The consulting business is not what it used to be and I need a new source of income. I decided to try out a well known employment agency that specializes in placing accountants and eft payments studies for business on this post is about my experience there new employees or independent contractor. Very few of the questions were based on accounting theory and many were based on information that changes frequently such as the timing of payroll tax remittances, and of course there are options like the no income tax that you need to manage with the right form as well. Good heavens, even though I scored well on the test, I can tell you it is not an indication of my qualifications or anyone elses. Really, the whole thing was a waste of time relying on accounting tools. Also, the people they had there to interview applicants were not accountants so there was no backup plan for the poor quality of the screening process.
